This one-to-two course provides two pre-registration optometrists an opportunity to undertake a mock OSCE circuit of 10 stations each while the other trainee observes. Each trainee is exposed to a total of 19 stations based on the 75 GOC elements of competence. All four categories of OSCE stations will be examined including Clinical Examination and Practical Skills, History Taking, Communication and Data Interpretation. The one-to-two circuit takes approximately 2 ½ hours followed by one-to-two feedback for approximately 3 hours. The feedback session will include what went well, areas for improvement including structure and fluency of performance and how to approach similar stations. The circuit includes a VOLK manikin station allowing each pre-registration optometrist to practise their indirect ophthalmoscopy skills before their final assessment. The course also includes a question and answer session giving trainees the opportunity to ask any questions.
Trainees are welcome to attend this course with a friend or colleague. Please contact Optocoach for further information.
